During the last couple of months, I took a new job after moving into a new home, and when I started back then I was so worried about the transportation way that I would take, as the public transportation is not so available to use in that part of the city, and at that point, I had tried on multiple apps few times on casual trips but I am not used to taking any of them as a day to day transportation due to the instability of the fares and I am going in it for work. So, I would have to stay on a budget and from that point, my day-to-day trips with transportation apps began.
Disclaimer: That’s my own point of view and it would surely be varied from one person to another, but I am speaking out of my own practical experience, hoping it would be of any benefit to you.
I used Uber, Careem, in-Drive, DiDi, and SWVL, those are almost the current known apps in Egypt till now. But today I chose to speak about my experience with the Careem appΒ in particular -noting that, it is not an Ad of any kind- but simply a review of a regular consumer who rarely finds any quite superior professional service that is worth speaking out loud for.
And Here is Why Careem becomes one of them!
Customer Support: Almost all the comparison points in all apps are within the same range but my multiple experiences with career customer support were the most outstanding I have ever seen which triggered me to write this article.
They have the option of messaging them if there’s something wrong happen of any kind including payment and they don’t get to suspend the cash to 15 days or so to get to the wallet due to a technical mistake, but it would be added to your wallet just after a few hours of submitting your message.
Also, if the captain made any kind of hassle and tried to increase their rate by taking a different long route than following the GPS, you would simply submit that, and they would check your ride and refund you back with the extra fees with an appropriate apology sent on your app messages and your email within a short time.
Ride Fare: The ride fare is in mid-range most of the time except in high traffic, it magnificently increases.
In usual cases, it is less than Uber and higher than Didi and in-driver, and if you’re lucky and get one of the promo codes in your mobile messages, you would mostly find it within the same rate as Didi and in-driver.
Car Captain: Out of my own experience, In-driver and Didi’s drivers are often good but there are some who lack suitable manners. Uber, Careem and SWVL are good.
Noting that the same captain can be using multiple apps. So, It’d be quite vague to say certain words. But It’ll most probably depend on your own experience. I would rather count on how the company dealt with a situation if the captain didn’t take their standards seriously.
According to multiple reviews on Facebook groups, Many people submitted complaints about In-driver and Didi captains and the companies didn’t take the appropriate procedures to handle the situation and investigate with the driver.
Rewards Program:Β I think adding the rewards feature of getting a variety of discounts on some stores with your accumulated points is a very smart advantage. As if I got the same exact rate in Careem with another app, I would simply choose Careem.
If in either way, you’ll pay the same amount. So, why not get the advantage of a few discounts too?
In the end, I would like to say that the experiences will differ from one person to another depending on a variety of factors and preferences. And It would be great if you could share your opinion with us in the comments below π.Β
